USING MICRODERMABRASION FOR FACIALS

Our facials use a technique called microdermabrasion which gives your skin a deeper exfoliation giving longer lasting results. With multiple sessions, it also has the ability to lessen discoloration, fine lines, and shallow acne scares leaving you with smoother, more evenly toned skin.

The process

Microdermabrasion is a two step process where a machine utilizes tiny crystals to gently exfoliate the surface of the skin and remove dead skin cells, while a vacuum sucks the removed skin cells and debris away. The process is non-invasive and doesn’t use any chemicals and is perfect for all skin types.

Benefits

o   Circulation

The process improves blood circulation meaning that more oxygen and nutrients are supplied to the cells. This improves cell processes and therefore enhances the skin, improving elasticity.

o   Increases Product Efficacy

Due to the removal of dead skin and increased circulation, microdermabrasion increases the absorption of skincare products to the skin by up to 50%. This is particularly useful for people currently receiving treatment for acne, as the skin is more receptive to the product and so will have better results.

  Pore Size and Health

Microdermabrasion can reduce the size of pores as well as unclog them. Improving the circulation of the skin can reduce inflammation and improve natural skin hygiene. These external factors cause larger pores.

  Safety

Microdermabrasion is one of the safest cosmetic treatments out there. It requires no medications and is one of the softest, non-invasive treatments available.

What can microdermabrasion treat?

o   Acne

Can reduce acne by clearing away dead skin cells and impurities that can block pores and lead to inflammation and spots. The improved circulation increases the nutrients and oxygen reaching the cell. Collagen production is also stimulated, creating softer more supple skin.

o   Blackheads

The top of the blackhead is removed through exfoliation. The vacuum then removes the remaining hardened oil.

  Scars

Microdermabrasion can lesson the appearance of increased pigmentation often present in scars and work around the irregular edges of scars. The improved circulation also improves the healing process and the stimulation of collagen.

o   Fine lines and wrinkles

Microdermabrasion causes an increase in collagen production which is greatly reduced with age and so improves the skin renewal process.

o   Stretchmarks

Microdermabrasion promotes the production of collagen and skin elastin, which help to keep the skin supple. It also improves circulation which brings nutrients and promotes skin healing. These are two important factors in reducing the appearance of stretchmarks.

  Uneven Pigmentation

The improved cell turnover and collagen boost can even the skin tone and reduce the incidence of hyperpigmentation.
